Solidarity needed with Tahrir detainees

9 April 2011 | 18:37

A message from a friend…

My name is Sara Hussein Abdel Ghany, my brother, Asser Hussein Abdel Ghany, 22 years old, was arrested on the 9th of April, 2011, by the military police. Asser was among peaceful demonstrators who participated in a sit-in Tahrir Square calling the army to answer the demands of the Revolution of the 25th of January. The peaceful protesters, however, were brutally attacked by the police even though they kept shouting “selmya”-non-violent demonstration. Asser and another 41 protesters were arrested and brought to the military prosecution in the 10th District -الحى العاشر- Nasr City, charged with violating curfew. All the 42 peaceful demonstrators will be facing a military trail on the 11th of April, 2011.

Solidarity needed with Asser and all the detainees…

  1. Is there anything foreign residents can do? petitions to sign, more info to circulate…??
I assume foreigners going to any protests outside the niyaba 3askareyya will not be helpful, as usual?

  2. Syndicaliste, altermondialiste et défenseur de la protection de l’environnement, attaché à la démocratie, je suis de très près l’évolution du processus de démocratisation réclamé par le peuple égyptien.

Je suis solidaire avec vos actions légitimes.

    Bonne lutte

YOU CAN NOT PASS MILITARY TRIALS TO THE CIVIL POPULATION…
AND CHARGES MOST BE DROPT AND THIS FRIENDS MOST GO FREE AS RIGHT NOW…… THAR SHOULD BE THE WAY TO DO IT.

  4. This is a message for Egyptians in General, journalist Hossam Hamalawy & other concerned uncorrupt Egyptians officials in particular.
The reason things have been dragging is the military is & have been under orders from the Pentagon for 30 years now.
You know it’s true since you know that Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Sami Eenan was at the Pentagon during the first week of the uprising.
What do you suppose he was doing there?!
He was answering to his true bosses that what!
The United States had him as the just in case but sure guy if Mobarek was to go.
The other guy they had in mind was Omar Soleiman the anti-terrorism man.
You must listen to me I know what you know not.
They’re doing the same thing in Libya, in Yemen & the’ll do the same thing in Syria.
Mark my words they’re going to try to put Moussa Koussa back in power in Lybia. He was the West’s so called anti-terrorism man
    You must wake up!
You must relieve Sami Eenan of his command along with may be even Tantawi. & anyone else around them that is just as corrupt if you really want to succeed.
Do not be fooled by the fact that Tantawi fought against the Zionists pigs in 1973. So did Mobarek remember that!
That is the very reason Hilary Clinton came to see Prime Minister Esam Sharaf.
What Esam Sharaf should have done was hold, literally, a transparent meeting with her live on international & national TV.
That’s how you expose these Western thugs.
What could she’ve had to say that she couldn’t say in front of people?! Are we going to back to square one?!
secret negotiations that benefit the West & Zionists pigs again?!
They were the same people who backed Mobarek & Soleiman.
She also went to Tunisia & did the exact same thing.
Again they had backed Bin Ali.
It’s like robbing Peter to pay Paul; literally.
They are ensuring that the new people in place will serve their interest, no different than their predecessors.
There’s no way they would allow real free elections or the people’s will.
    You must understand that.
    [Al Baqara/chapter 2 verse 120]
Unless of course you think that verse is open fo interpretation & conditional.
Now it is important that we understand that it is referring specifically to governments, corporations, & the elite in general. Not necessarily the average Joe Shmoe with whom Muslim co-exhist on a daily basis worldwide with no problem whatsoever.
So I repeat, it’s governments, corporations, the elite…

  5. This a follow up to my above comments.
    One very important point I feel I need highlight;
The coincidence between CIA & MI6 landing in Libya 2 weeks ago along with NATO supposedly mistakingly targeting anti Gaddafi forces, & NATO’s reluctance or should we say deliberate indicision to bomb Gaddafi’s positions is a clear cut case of:
1- they don’t want an Islamic government to form.
2- if the Libyans get too desperate, they will allow foreign soldiers on the ground, which they said from the get go is a NO NO. They’ve already went back on one point(CIA & MI6 worse if you ask me) out of lack of options.
The only people to blame is the so called Muslim countries who can send their Muslim soldiers in that the Libyans asked for over & over again.
    3- & this should concern Egyptians directly & all Muslims really;
They want to back door Egypt now that it is no longer an ally of the Zionist pig regime.
So wake up Egypt & do the right thing. Send in your experts to train & arm the Libyans to rid themselves of Gaddafi the butcher & convince Turkey, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Tunisia & Qatar to send a joint Muslim task force to Libya & stop the bloodshed, hunt down Gaddafi & his sons to take them to court inside Libya,.
That should send a strong message to any other arrogant, oppressive nation out there who dares attack a Muslim country, or dictator who decides to use lethal force against his citizens as is the case in Syria, Bahrain, Jordan, Algeria, Azerbaijan …etc & last but not least the Zionist pigs who keep killing Palestinians.
One thing I can’t wrap my brain around; don’t the said above Muslim countries have the air power to enforce a no fly zone instead of NATO???!!!
& why does Egypt need permission from the Pentagon to give the Libyans weapons to defend themselves from the Butcher???!!!
Listen to me for the love of God! I know what you know not.

  6. Full solidarity
    Freedom for Asser
Asser Should not be behind bars rather he should be awarded for his struggle for the freedom of his homeland- Egypt, jail is for the criminals those who destroyed and stole Egypt not for freedomfighters
    Release the freedomfighter immediately
