It’s confirmed. The university professors are going on a national strike Sunday 23 March, despite attempts by the regime’s Ministry of Education to abort the move.
The Strike Coordination Committee is calling on all university professors to join in, and organize protests in front of the buildings that host the govt administrations on the campuses, at 1pm.
I hope to see strong mobilization by student groups, from all tendencies, on the campuses in solidarity with their profs.
Comrades around the world, the strikers need your solidarity… If you are affiliated with any teachers’ unions, community association, student unions, try to get your union to issue a statement in solidarity with the strikers.. I’m very short of time, so if any Arabic reader can translate the profs’ demands into English and post them in the comments’ section that would be very much appreciated.
The demands are:
UPDATE: A report by Sarah Carr.
the demands are:
1.cancelling the law 82 for the year 2000 and concerning senior preofessors (70 years or older).
