The number of Muslim Brotherhood detainees has reached, in the last period, up to 515 detainees, mostly under provisional detention.
From Ikhwan Web:
State security forces arrested 33 students from the Egyptian summer resort of Hanoville, Agamy, west of Alexandria , on Saturday at dawn, after raiding three flats which the students rented to spend three days holiday. The students belong to the Muslim Brotherhood group, 26 of them are engineering students at Ain Shams university, Cairo , and seven students are from the Alexandria University . One of the students contacted his friends and told them of the security raid and detentions.
It is happening again, this time in Aswan.
Clashes broke out on the Aswan Island in Upper Egypt as a mobile phone company tried to install signal tower on the island. The residents, believing this would endanger their health and safety, fought the company officials and threw the construction materials for the tower in the Nile River.
Police detained 11 from the island’s youth, but around 1000 residents showed up in front of the prosecutor demonstrating, forcing the government to release the detainees, stop the building of the tower on the island, in exchange for the residents compensating the company for the construction materials they threw in the river.
