I received the following message from the Cairo Anti-War Conference organizers:

Dear comrades,
The Cairo Conference will be canceled this year. Despite our vehement efforts to secure a venue, having reserved one and even kept it unannounced, state security have managed to sabotage our endeavors. The persecution have been heightened since the announcement of the Hezbollah cell. You will receive a public statement shortly on behalf of the organizing committee explaining the situation.
This is such a huge set-back and impediment for us in Cairo, We hope you accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
