Cairo U students continue their protests
[Video removed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyGDhvnJxLk]
Cairo University students continue their protests against Hossam Kamel, the university president, and brother of Mubarak’s telecommunications minister Tarek Kamel. The students want complete purge of the administration from any corrupt regime figures, dissolution of the state-controlled student unions, lifting all restrictions on political activities, free education and affordable text books.
One quote I really like from the young female student who’s leading the chants above: “We will run the university. The university will not run us.”
A similar revolt is reported in virtually all state universities where classes were resumed.
#Jan25 Muslims and Christians protest sectarian attacks مسلمين مسيحيين.. الحرية هي الدين
Muslims and Christians march in Abdel Moneim Riyadh Square, heading to join a protest in Maspero in front of the State TV, denouncing sectarian attacks on Copts in Atfeeh (Helwan, south of Cairo). Note the support coming from drivers, honking. One car that passed right beside me in the video also had this sticker “25 January” on the back window.
