Lawsuit against interior minister over mobile phones ban

Al-Masry Al-Youm reports that a lawyer by the name Nabil Ghebrial has filed a lawsuit against General Habib el-Adly, Mubarak’s interior minister, and the sheriffs of Zeitoun and Khosous Police Stations, trying to get the Administrative Court to revoke Adly’s decree to ban citizens from carrying their mobile phones inside police stations, following the break out of videogate.

It seems Adly forgets, however, that it is his police agents not the citizens who film the abuse. As for the citizens, they film this, Adly Basha:

Report: 53 labor struggles during June

The Egyptian Workers and Trade Unions Watch issued its report for the month of June 2007.

The report documents 53 labor struggles during the month, which ranged from strikes, sit-ins, protests, threats to strike.

Those who took part in the protests/strikes were at least 13,000 workers, while those who threatened industrial action were at least 61,000 in total.

Nato raids kill Afghan civilians

From the BBC:

Afghan villagers in the eastern province of Kunar say 35 civilians have been killed in separate air attacks by international forces.
The villagers said neighbours in Watapour were burying 10 people killed in a strike when planes attacked again, killing 25 more people.
The Nato-led force said it had launched air strikes in the area, but had not had reports of civilian casualties.
