Gamal faints during NDP General Secretariat meeting

Posted on 20/03/200727/12/2020 By 3arabawy

Alf salama…!

Gamal Mubarak, the undersecretary-general and head of policies committee in the rulin National Democratic Party (NDP), fainted for five minutes before his meeting on Tuesday with the NDP General Secretariat members to discuss the new developments regarding the constitutional amendments.
A state of panic hit NDP members who saw this inside the Secretariat Hall, while some doctors struggled to make him restore his consciousness, and they reassured that there is no danger on his life and that the fainting was due to an acute influenza.
A source familiar with the Policies Committee reported that “doctors told Gamal Mubarak that he is very exhausted due exerting more efforts and malnutrition and they advised him to take at least two-day complete rest.”
…
On the other hand, Gamal Mubarak will travel to Paris, later this month, to buy furniture for his house to prepare for his wedding ceremony next summer.

From Ikhwan Web:

Five thousand workers of the Alexandria-based United Arab and Polvara Spinning and Weaving Co. staged a labor strike, starting from last Saturday, protesting at not increasing shares, discriminating between workers and executives, not paying profits, canceling incentives for working on Fridays and sick leaves and not excluding advisors and those on pension.
The strike included workers of the first, second, fourth and fifth shifts, to be joined later by the third shift workers who broke the company gate and joined their colleagues in the strike.

Police ban demo

Today’s protest against Mubarak’s authoritarian constitutional amendments was banned by the police.

Kefaya blogger Malek Mustafa was kidnapped around noon. He’s currently detained in a blue car, with license plates no. 865171, full of police informers, parked in front of the American University in Cairo.

UPDATE: It’s 4:10pm now. Malek has just been released. No word on Abdel Qodouss.

UPDATE: Muhammad Abdel Qudouss was released, according to leftist journalist and activist Khaled el-Balshi. Abdel Qudouss was also locked up in a police car, said Khaled. None of the detainees today were taken to police stations. Basically the police took everyone on a cruise.
