Police have killed Mahmoud Abdel Gawwad, a 33-year-old cook, in the town of Nabarouh, in the Nile Delta province of Daqahliya.

The family of the victim accused the head of Criminal Investigations at the police station, Major Islam Anan, of torturing Abdel Gawwad by electric shocks till he died on 25 July.
