Around 300 microbus drivers in Giza went on a 48 hour strike, blocking the Gamet el-Dowal el-Arabiya street in Mohandessin, to denounce police harassment, insults, unfair fines, arbitrary arrests.
What sovereignty?!
While the regime keeps on whipping up anti-Palestinian hysteria, mixed with overdose of flag waving and chauvinism about “our sovereignty under threat”, supported by a group of patriotic morons in the press outlets and the blogosphere… Mubarak and the flag-wavers are still too happy to sit silently watching “our sovereignty” violated by two Israeli air fighters this morning flying over Sinai’s town of Sheikh Zuwayed, located 15kms from the borders…., and watching the US Navy conducting search operations in Egyptian territorial water.
Trains Signal Operators are on STRIKE!
Signal operators are on a national strike, bringing trains to a complete halt in Cairo, Alexandria, and all the major stations in the Nile Deta and Upper Egypt, since 12 noon. The Signal Operators in Cairo’s Misr Station are slamming their state-backed union officials.
