Afghan villagers in the eastern province of Kunar say 35 civilians have been killed in separate air attacks by international forces.
The villagers said neighbours in Watapour were burying 10 people killed in a strike when planes attacked again, killing 25 more people.
The Nato-led force said it had launched air strikes in the area, but had not had reports of civilian casualties.
Journalists will hold a sit-in in front of the Public Prosecutor’s office in downtown today, Saturday noon, to protest the assault against Ad-Dostour journalist Ahmad Badr, who was beaten up by the police force securing the US embassy’s 4th of July celebrations in Muhammad Ali’s Palace in Shobra.
The police operation to “secure” the area for the embassy’s party caused “traffic crisis” as Al-Masry Al-Youm reports.
Tomorrow is the anniversary of the assassination of Palestinian writer and PFLP activist Ghassan Kanafani, killed with his niece 8 July 1972, by a car bomb in Beirut, planted by the terrorist state of Israel.
