Forced eviction in Duweiqa
In January families (many of whom were living in one room) moved into empty flats in the Suzanne Mubarak housing project in Duweiqa, they say, when they saw that the empty flats were being pilfered (for doors and blinds etc) by thieves.
They lived there for five months until the army and the interior ministry made them leave, forcibly. They were not provided with alternative housing and are currently living in the street. This video was given to Sarah Carr by Mohab Muhammad, one of the people forcibly evicted.
Counterrevolution: Islamists and the Military Junta
As revolutionaries flock to Tahrir Square, the Muslim Brotherhood continue to refuse taking part in protests today, while the Gamaa Islamiya and the salafis mobilized a protest in el-Fath mosque in Ramses Square, denouncing the “secularists, Marxists and foreign agents” in Tahrir.
Also, few hundreds of pro-Mubarak supporters have also gathered in Roxy Square in Heliopolis, to express support for the ruling military junta and the police, and to denounce the protests in Tahrir.
