A Central Security Forces conscript stood guarding the parliament as the Amonsito workers renew their sit in. He was very sweet, and most of the conscripts I met during the labor sit ins were sympathetic to the workers’ cause and could relate to them. I see this as one of the main reasons for Mubarak’s hesitation to crack down on the strike wave.
