The strikers took a number of the management’s engineers hostages on Sunday and released them at night. The strike continues as time of writing.

Earlier in the morning, the strikers “detained” Ahmad Alam Eddin, the CEO of the company inside the factory, and did not “release” him except when an agreement was reached by which the workers’ monthly salary would increase by LE75 and May Day Grants will be paid starting from July.

The agreement also dealt with other demands the workers raised. I’ll post more details when I get the info.
