A 59 year old street kiosk owner has died in Nasr City Police custody, after trying to resist the demolition of his property, part of a wider gentrification campaign aimed at the urban poor in the district.

Fraternizing with the Conscripts
Despite the shortage of water, the kettled protesters shared the few bottles they had with the Central Security Forces conscripts. The latter were very sympathetic towards the protesters. Most of the beatings that took place in the protest happened on the hands of the police informers and officers, not the conscripts.
