Libyans in Cairo celebrate Gaddafi’s death
Dozens of Libyans and few Egyptians gathered, Thursday night, in front of the Libyan embassy in Zamalek to celebrate news of Gaddafi’s death.
I also saw in Tahrir earlier and elsewhere cars waving the Libyan Independence flag.
During the march on Maspero, Egyptian protesters were chanting in front of the State TV building promising Field Marshal Tantawi a fate similar to Gaddafi’s.
Marching on Maspero
Hundreds marched on Thursday night from the High Court, in Ramses, through downtown Cairo streets, ending in Maspero, where the State TV is located, denouncing the sectarian massacre perpetrated by the Egyptian army against (mostly) Coptic protesters on 9 October, 2011. Protesters called for holding the SCAF accountable as well as the State TV officials who helped incite sectarian violence against the Copts.
I heard very strong chants during the march, calling for the execution of Field Marshal Tantawi, as well as the SCAF generals.
