Video by Gigi Ibrahim:

January 28th, 2011, Kasr El Nile bridge at 6:20 pm. This was the moment I found out the NDP headquarters was on fire, and I started chanting “long live Egypt!” I almost couldn’t believe my eyes. First, it wasn’t clear because I was standing so far on Kasr El Nile bridge and there were multiple of police cars on fire along the Cornish. I was confused. My brain couldn’t fathom the fact that it was happening, but the power of the people did it, and we are still dismantling the corrupt NDP. Long live the revolution.

Video taken by Gigi Ibrahim:

January 28th, 2011, Kasr El Nile bridge at 5:08 pm. This was one of many attempts to cross Kasr El Nile bridge into Tahrir square, but we were faced with tear gas, water canon, rubber & live bullets. We didn’t actually cross it until later that night. It was one of the longest most brutal battles, but in the end the power of the people won.
