Government shuts down SMS

Posted on 27/01/201115/02/2021 By 3arabawy

There were reports circulating among Egyptian activists that the govt was about to shut down SMS, to continue with its crackdown on communications and the flow of information about protests.

I called up Mobinil and the customer service claimed there were no problems whatsoever.

Meanwhile, Twitter and Facebook are still blocked, but we are using proxies.
