Protests in Maspero

The State TV building, Maspero, has been witnessing an ongoing protest calling for the independence of state media from NDP/Mubarak corrupted officials and to cleanse the institution from all corruption. This video shows the Army’s reaction when protesters have brought in a sound system to set-up a stage to demonstrate, and was quickly confronted by a quick arrest of the driver. March 25th, 2011. The driver was released under pressure.

‘Diyarbakir is our own Tahrir Square’

One of the Turkish Kurdish protesters interviewed by Al-Jazeera in this report says: “Diyarbakir is our own Tahrir Square.” The Egyptian revolution is becoming an inspiration in the region.

Ain Shams students denounce military tribunals

Ain Shams University students are holding a conference on campus, this Sunday 1pm, in solidarity with their colleague Amr Eissa, who’s been detained by the army at Tahrir Square on 9 March, tortured at the Egyptian Museum, before a trial in front of a military tribunal which sentenced him to three years in prison.
