Students at Cairo University denounce attacks by the military police, against their sit-in, which started on 6 March demanding the impeachment of the university and faculty deans associated with the Mubarak’s regime.

Protests in Maspero

The State TV building, Maspero, has been witnessing an ongoing protest calling for the independence of state media from NDP/Mubarak corrupted officials and to cleanse the institution from all corruption. This video shows the Army’s reaction when protesters have brought in a sound system to set-up a stage to demonstrate, and was quickly confronted by a quick arrest of the driver. March 25th, 2011. The driver was released under pressure.
Army attacks Cairo U students
The military police yesterday stormed Cairo University campus, suspending by force the ongoing sit in by the Mass Com students calling for impeaching the university president, faculty dean and other figures affiliated with the Mubarak’s regime. The soldiers used sticks and tasers, temporarily detaining a number of students and professors.
A protest is scheduled today at 12 noon in solidarity with the students in front of the Cairo University gate.
