Socialists mobilize hundreds on Cairo U campus against Zionist massacres, Arab regimes مظاهرات طلابية حاشدة بجامعة القاهرة للتنديد بالمذابح الصهيونية وتواطؤ نظام الدكتاتور مبارك كلب الأمريكان

I received the following message from Cairo:

بدعوة من الطلاب الاشتراكيين، يقوم الآن مئات من الطلاب بجامعة القاهرة بالتظاهر تضامنا مع أهالي غزة وضد الصهيونية والإمبريالية والأنظمة العربية المتواطئة وعلى رأسها النظام المصري

Hundreds of students, mobilized by the Socialist Students, in Cairo University are now demonstrating on campus, in solidarity with the citizens of Gaza, against Zionism, Imperialism and the collaborating Egyptian and Arab regimes

Good luck shabab!

UPDATE: The Muslim Brotherhood students started a separate demonstration… but I received news now that the two marches have united… Excellent!
I hope someone is taking photos and/or videos.

UPDATE: Comrade Osama reporting on the demonstration, via SMS today.
The students were chanting: “Gamal, tell your dad: The Egyptian students hate him”

https://twitter.com/O_Salam/status/765685453

“The Students are like the workers. Both suffer from exploitation.”

https://twitter.com/O_Salam/status/765685626

“Those in Gaza are our brothers. They are miserably poor like us,” “He who starves his own family and people, is a client dog from head to toes.”

https://twitter.com/O_Salam/status/765686212

A statement by the Socialist Students is also posted here, denouncing both the Zionist State and the US-backed Mubarak’s dictatorial regime.

UPDATE: A detailed report with photos by Comrade Mostafa.
The student slogans included: “The first demand by the (Egyptian) people is torching down the (Israeli) embassy, and expelling the (Israeli) ambassador…. We will say it one generation after the other: We will be your enemies Israel…” The students also denounced the Arab regimes’ positions towards the Palestinians, and criticized Mubarak for exporting natural gas to Israel..
The protests on campus started separate from one another… So the Socialists mobilized their own, the MBs had their own… but the protesters united after sometime… and toured the campus that fell under the siege of Mubarak’s Central Security Forces and State Security agents. The day was over with a mass conference, where speakers from the Socialist Students, MBs, Ghad and ‘Amal Party gave speeches of solidarity with the Palestinian struggle… The photo below is of the march mobilized by the Socialist Students before they united with the Muslim Brotherhood’s.

All papers should print Danish cartoons, says racist German minister

Posted on 28/02/200801/01/2021 By 3arabawy

It’s as if the German state is jealous, and wants to prove it’s just as racist as its Danish sister. The German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble came out on Wednesday with brilliant statements, saying “all European newspapers should print these cartoons,” in the name of “press freedom.”

Wolfgang you are a racist, and you are the last one to talk about “freedom.” You send your troops to the Islamic World, and help out the Americans in their dirty war in Afghanistan. You treat foreigners and immigrants like shit in your country. You even have legal clauses that allows you to carry out “preemptive detentions” against demonstrators (like those you conducted against the anti-G8 protesters). No wonder then that your Ambassador to Cairo, Bernd Erbel, would come out in praise of Mubarak’s regime recently saying:

Egypt is a country that enjoys enough freedom and democracy to overcome any negatives that take place in the Egyptian Society. The European community respects Egypt ’s special status in dealing with its internal problems as a strong country that aces its challenges in a constructive manner and on the highest level.

And no wonder that your Orientalist chairman of the German Chamber of Commerce in Egypt would come out praising the son of the dictator, Gamal Mubarak, saying:

There is a Pharaonic tradition that the son assumes power after his father. There are many countries that speak a lot about democracy and elections and have now disastrous conditions like Kenya and Brazil…

That’s the “freedom” you understand indeed.

Mubarak’s regime starts gas exports to Israel

Posted on 26/02/200801/01/2021 By 3arabawy

From AFP:

“Egyptian gas has been flowing to Israel since last week but it has not yet been integrated into the Israeli network for procedural reasons,” the source said, adding that the pipeline would be fully integrated “in a few days.”
The new underwater pipeline runs 100 kilometres (63 miles) from the Egyptian Mediterranean city of Arish to the Israeli port of Ashkelon, supplying gas pumped from a gasfield in the north of the Sinai peninsula.
The Egyptian side has remained virtually silent on its progress since a memorandum of understanding was signed in 2005.
The MOA provided for the export by an Egyptian-Israeli consortium, East Mediterranean Gas (EMG), of 1.7 billion cubic metres (60 billion cubic feet) of gas a year over 15 years for a total of 2.5 billion dollars. ….
Shareholders in the Cairo-based EMG include Egyptian businessman Hussein Salem and Yossi Maiman, who heads the Israeli multinational Merhav.
Another gas supply contract was signed in 2006 between Israel’s Dorad Energy and EMG, worth two billion dollars over 15 to 20 years. Dorad is due to complete Israel’s first private power generator in Ashkelon by the end of 2009.
Egypt’s national gas production in 2007 was 62 billion cubic metres (2,135 billion cubic feet), according to the oil ministry, of which 28.8 percent was exported.
