Mahalla strike ‘illegal,’ says govt
Journalist friends called up Labor Minister Aisha Abdel Hadi’s office and the General Federation for Textile Workers.. and they were told by both govt entities (yes including the union which is run by Mubarak’s NDP) that the strike is “illegal.”
This is a green light for the police to move against the strikers.

I find it really interesting that while the Muslim Brothers are facing military tribunals, regular roundups, torture of student activists, freezing of assets, and finally the banning of their annual Cairo Iftar.. but still, they go and invite Shura Council Member General Hassan Khaled Hammad of Mubarak’s National Democratic Party to their Ramadan Iftar in Mansoura.
