Israel continues Gaza killings

At least seven Palestinians have been killed as Israel carried out four more air strikes in the Gaza Strip.
In the latest attack two Palestinian fighters were killed in a strike on a minibus near a Gaza City post manned by Hamas on Friday, according to witnesses and medical sources.
Five other people were wounded in the raid on the Nasser district of northern Gaza City close to a position of the Executive Force, a paramilitary group under the control of Hamas, the sources said.
Earlier one man died and several were hurt when Israeli helicopter gunships fired on them after they had launched a rocket into Israel, a Palestinian hospital official said.

Egypt-trained Fatah loyalists enter Gaza

About 500 Fatah loyalists have returned to Gaza from police training in Egypt amid fighting with rival faction Hamas.
The latest violence killed 14 people, including eight in one attack on Fatah – the worst in three days of bloodshed.
The force is reported to be under the command of Muhammad Dahlan, national security adviser to Mr Abbas, who also leads Fatah.

Report: Israeli interrogators torture Palestinians

Israeli interrogators frequently beat Palestinian suspects, shackle them in painful positions and deprive them of sleep, defying a 1999 court ruling outlawing torture, two Israeli human rights groups said Sunday.
One Palestinian said his captors made him arch his back over a bench with his hands and legs joined in what prisoners commonly call “the banana position,” according to a report released by B’Tselem and The Center for the Defense of the Individual.
“They brought a chain and used it to hook together the handcuffs and leg shackles. The way this made my body stretch was unbearable,” said the man, identified as A.Z., 29. “Then the interrogators lifted the bench from both ends and dropped it suddenly. At that point I lost consciousness.”
