In the Friday prayers following the uprising, the salafis came out strongly against the intifada. The preachers in their mosques, and we have many, said strikes and demonstrations against the ruler were haram. The people (worshipers) did not stay silent. They yelled back at the preachers, and at least in one occasion they assaulted a sheikh in a mosque.

In other news related El-Burullus, the last four detainees from the town in the pigs’ custody have been finally released. Mabrouk. Let’s not forget our brothers in Mahalla however.

This uprising happens after two months exactly from Al Mahalla uprising in April. This scares the regime that the other Governates and cities began to imitate what happened in Al Mahalla and Al Burullus then it will be a very big problem threatening the existence of the regime and its security.

A labor organizer recalling Mahalla’s 17 February anti-Mubarak demonstration, which is the biggest labor march ever to be organized since the dictator rose to power in 1981:

As workers assembled in the compound near the gate, Central Security Forces showed up, in full gear. They parked two of their trucks in front of the factory gate so as to block the exit and make it impossible for the workers to leave the premise. The workers pulled and pushed the two trucks with their hands. Yes, just like that, with their hands and moved them hundreds of meters away from the gate… and stormed out into the town.
