After brief suspension of their hunger strike prior to the lawyers’ appeal in court last Wednesday, the Mahalla 3 (Kamal el-Fayoumi, Tarek Amin and Kareem el-Beheiri) are resuming their hunger strike tomorrow in Bourg el-Arab Prison, Alexandria, demanding their release.

I received the following message from a Socialist activist in Cairo:
تأكدنا أن البحيرى في مستشفى السجن ..فقد أغمى عليه قبل خروج أخر فوج من المعتقلين السياسيين وتم استدعاء الاسعاف له لنقله إلى مستشفى السجن .المحامون لن يزوروا المعتقلين قبل يوم السبت موعد الزيارة ..غير مسموح بغير ذلك ..كريم مصاب بانيميا ..وقد تم تعذيبه فى أمن الدولة قبل تحويله إلى سجن برج العرب ..كما قال هو لأحد المفرج عنهم حديثا …عذب فى أقبية أمن الدولة بالمحلة لمدة 18 ساعة متصلة والعهدة على احد المفرج عنهم وهو أحمد أمين من مؤسسى حزب الكرامة فى الدقهلية وكان مقبوض عليه فى برج العرب على اثر الأحداث .
It’s confirmed that Kareem now is in the Bourg el-Arab Prison Hospital after he passed out. A Karama Party activist who was detained with Kareem and released recently says he was told by Kareem that the latter had been tortured for 18 hours in State Security Police’s custody in Mahalla.
