The local NDP officials in Alexandria tried to hold ‘Azaa (mourning) for the victims of last Wednesday’s building collapse. Relatives of the victims could be seen, in a video, in a verbal fight with the NDP men, with one shouting: “Get a ladder, and bring this fucking (NDP) banner down!”
Later, Alexandria’s Governor (and former SS General) Adel Labib showed up, only to be chased away by the citizens.
Muslim Brotherhood activist Youssef Talaat, turned himself in to State Security Police on 9 October, after they intimidated his family.
Talaat, a pharmacist who resides in the Beheira province, is part of the Gaza Solidarity Campaign and one of the media coordinators for the Cairo Anti-War Conference.
