3000 workers strike in Mahalla; threaten escalation in three weeks

Around three thousand workers went on strike today in Ghazl el-Mahalla for 32 minutes, reports activist Kareem el-Beheiry.

The strikers warned the management after they went back to work that this was just the beginning, and threatened wider action on 21 July, if their demands are not met.

Al-Azhar striking teachers score victory

It seems the teachers have won. Al-Azhar senior official is quoted by Al-Masry Al-Youm today promising to include the Al-Azhar teachers in the reform package starting from the beginning of July, yielding to the strikers’ demands.
