Capitalism is Cannibalism

From AP…

As of Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at least 3,610 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At least 2,966 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military’s numbers.
The AP count is one less than the Defense Department’s tally, last updated Wednesday at 10 a.m. EDT.
The British military has reported 159 deaths; Italy, 33; Ukraine, 18; Poland, 20; Bulgaria, 13; Spain, 11; Denmark, seven; El Salvador, five; Slovakia, four; Latvia, three; Estonia, Netherlands, Thailand, two each; and Australia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Romania, South Korea, one death each.

A solidarity message I received from MC Red October:

We’re doing our part here to build the anti-imperialist side of things. It’s not easy, but more and more people are turning against the war in Iraq and raising questions about US foreign policy more generally. It is a very exciting time. Today I’m performing near a military base with the Iraq Veterans Against the War bus tour.
We hope to see soldiers turn against the war in increasing numbers, because of how important that was to stopping the Vietnam war.

Journalists to protest police assault

Posted on 07/07/200728/12/2020 By 3arabawy

Journalists will hold a sit-in in front of the Public Prosecutor’s office in downtown today, Saturday noon, to protest the assault against Ad-Dostour journalist Ahmad Badr, who was beaten up by the police force securing the US embassy’s 4th of July celebrations in Muhammad Ali’s Palace in Shobra.

The police operation to “secure” the area for the embassy’s party caused “traffic crisis” as Al-Masry Al-Youm reports.
