The symbolism of the images are enormous: the images are being shared on Arabic twitter and Facebook with great jubilation.

The impact of those images on the regional level will be massive. Keep spreading the pix and vids. Keep on visualizing dissent. Tell the Arab world it’s possible. It’s possible to put your tyrants behind bars.

The people we photograph are not “objects,” but “subjects” and agents of change.

A Key factor contributing to the revolution’s domino effect is visualizing dissent. We need to spread images and videos of the revolt to inspire others into action. A camera, sometimes, is no less important than a Kalashnikov in a revolution.

I hope activists would share the PDF files of those stencils online, so as to make it easier for circulation and print by other activists around the country.
