This is catastrophic. The biggest imperialist force on the planet, NATO, is bombing Libya “in the name of revolution,” CIA operatives are active on the ground, Western “military advisers” become visible in Benghazi, as US and Egyptian military specialists are reported by Al-Jazeera to be training the revolutionaries.
The Libyan revolution is being hijacked in front of our eyes.
But surely its better for a international coalition- that includes arab nations, backed with an Arab and UN mandate-to intervene then to allow the annihalation of the revoultionaries..no?
Pls dont forget that revolutionarys had too few to win.
I hope for all Libya etcetera that next steps can be taken by humanrights respecting democratic elected people.
The revolutionaries did not have too few to win, they are the majority! The revolutionaries are not a small band of armed rebels but the mass of Libyans who long for a life free of poverty and tyranny. The US will only train rebels on the condition that they remain loyal to the West. They will pick the most conservative sections of the rebels and elevate them to a position of power.
Can I ask you Q? Why do you think their revolution is hijacked?
“But surely its better for a international coalition- that includes arab nations, backed with an Arab and UN mandate-to intervene then to allow the annihalation of the revoultionaries..no?”
Hang on… the Arab nations? You mean the dictators and despots who are also worried about being overthrown? And a mandate from the UN? You mean a mandate from the imperialist nations who have backed these dictators, Gaddaffi included, for decades?
These forces don’t want the revolution to succeed. They will most likely negotiate with ex-Gaddaffi generals in the rebel camp (which the US has indicated it wants to do) in order to get back to business as usual as quickly as possible.
To see what NATO “support for revolution” means one needs to look at Kosovo – the colonial “state” managed by imperialist puppets trafficking in human organs taken from people specially killed for this “goods”.
A great prospect for Libya, indeed.
