Marching from Tahrir to Maspero

Posted on 29/10/201101/03/2021 By 3arabawy

Thousands demonstrated on Tahrir, Friday 28 October, denouncing the army’s massacre of Maspero protesters and the new electoral law legislated by SCAF, calling for the continuation of the revolution. Demonstrators also chanted against the grotesque abuses committed by both the military police and interior ministry against protesters and detainees in custody.

Protesters marched later, 4pm, on Maspero where the State TV is located, to denounce the continued counterrevolutionary propaganda and sectarian incitement. Strong chants echoed, calling for the execution of Field Marshal Tantawi and the overthrowing of his army generals.

The body of Essam Atta arrived in Tahrir Square at night, where prayers were conducted.

The prayers were followed by a mass funeral where protesters called for avenging his death under torture at Tora Prison.

Libyans celebrating Gaddafi's death in front of the Libyan embassy in Cairo

Dozens of Libyans and few Egyptians gathered, Thursday night, in front of the Libyan embassy in Zamalek to celebrate news of Gaddafi’s death.

I also saw in Tahrir earlier and elsewhere cars waving the Libyan Independence flag.
During the march on Maspero, Egyptian protesters were chanting in front of the State TV building promising Field Marshal Tantawi a fate similar to Gaddafi’s.
