Posted on 16/06/200707/02/2021 By 3arabawy

The United Bank continues its crackdown on the Mansoura-España Garments Company workers.

The management sacked today trade unionist Mohsen el-Shae’r, and five women workers: Soua’d Mamdouh, Soua’d Salama, Sabreen Sabri, Hoda Said, and Nermin Abbas, accusing them of agitating for a strike.

The workers’ names were reported to the Talkha Police Station, together with 15 other names of workers the company is accusing of instigating the current industrial action.

Mansoura-España striker’s husband dies, as he was bringing breakfast to factory

Bad news…

Ali el-Sayyed Nour, a 45-year-old Azharite teacher, was heading in the morning to the Mansoura-España Garments factory, to bring breakfast to his wife Aida Ahmad Abdel Ghani, who’s been part of the women strikers occupying the factory since 21 April. He was hit by a train and died.

My condolences go to Aida and her fellow workers.
